Publication Oversight Committee
About
The Publications Oversight Committee (POC) is charged to coordinate current and explore new avenues for serving the profession and the society through publications. Specifically:
- POC is responsible, to the extent possible, support publishing and indexing of publications of the regional, international and technical conferences of the Society with a view on the ISSMGE Open Access commitments as announced by the Board in 2023.
- POC should have an oversight of the Online Library and the Conference Paper Review Platform and any necessary upgrades that are needed to maintain them, improve them based on users feedback and expand them.
- POC should update and revise the ISSMGE Conference & Publication Manual that was last revised in May 2017
- POC should support the ISSMGE publications, specifically the International Journal of Geoengineering Case Histories, the Bulletin, and the Online Lexicon.
- POC should consider the launch of a new open access journal publication that will not compete with the Case Histories Journal and will focus on research advances. The name of the journal could be International Journal of Geoengineering Research Advances, or something similar.
The membership of the Committee should consist of a Chair, a Vice-Chair, a Board Member, Editors in Chief of the journal, Bulletin Editor in Chief, as well as liaisons from TOC and IDC and additional members.
