To serve the different areas within the energy value chain, Siemens Energy has established the four different Business Areas Gas Services, Grid Technologies, Transformation of Industry and Windpower, within which Siemens Energy is offering their products to a global market.

In addition to our product business, Siemens Energy maintains a special global in-house organization, with over 20 locations and around 2,500 employees, in order to be able to offer potential customers world class execution and the successful delivery of complex projects across all Business Areas within Siemens Energy, including full EPC turnkey construction.

The purpose of this special organization Project Entity is a project centric tailored approach for execution of complex projects for, and on behalf of all Business Areas. This is realized by integration of the highest qualifications for project execution, with a focus on development and growth of people to ensure future fitness.

In parallel there is a strong focus at Project Entity on digitalization and productivity, while delivering projects on time and in budget. To deliver projects as One Siemens Energy, we create and make use of synergies and competencies across all Business Areas, while driving project excellence standards, best practices, and lessons learned across our company.

Beside mechanical-, electrical-, and acoustic-engineering, the engineering-department at Project Entity comprises civil engineering as well, so serve the construction demands of all different energy sectors such as Gas- and Steam Power Plants, High-voltage DC Transmission Systems (HVDC), AC and DC Grid Access Solutions, Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), Hybrid H2- and Power to X-plants, from integrated systems to full turnkey.

To be able to deal with the resulting in-house- and customer-questions and -tasks, in the global field of civil engineering and special foundation engineering, in a qualified and optimized manner and within the time constraints of the project business, Siemens Energy operates an in-house Geotechnical Expert Group.

In addition to the preparation of geotechnical stability- and settlement-calculations, as part of the foundation design in plant construction, the Geotechnical Expert Group provides support and guidance from the bidding phase to the final project execution phase in the areas of geotechnical-consulting, -risk assessment, negotiation and awarding of construction services, construction execution and claim management. To be able to perform these tasks, the Geotechnical Expert Group operates in an international environment of consulting, soil investigation and foundation engineering companies as well as international construction groups.
