This news is a bit late but hopefully it will brighten everyone's day during these uncertain times. We are pleased to recognise that Dr. Jahanzaib Israr is the recipient of the Bright Spark Lecture Award at the 9th Asian Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference which took place in Lahore, Pakistan in December 2019.
Dr. Jahanzaib Israr is a Senior Lecturer at University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Pakistan since 2009. He obtained B.Sc. Civil Engineering with overall 5th position and then obtained M.Sc. Geotechnical Engineering with Honors in 2012 from UET Lahore. He obtained FDP and IPTA scholarships and completed Ph.D. in 2016 from University of Wollongong (UoW) Australia. He then served as a full-time Research Fellow at the Center GRE of UoW (2017-2018) and is currently associated with Center GRE as a Visiting/Honorary Research Fellow until 2021. His research interests include granular soils under dynamic conditions, filtration and drainage, and problematic soils especially swelling clays. He has co-authored +25 research articles including 16 ISI indexed journals and a number of international conferences and has also contributed chapters on internal erosion and design of filtration of railway subballast layer to a couple of international books by ASCE and CRC Press (Taylor and Francis).
