ISDCG 2027 – Call for Abstracts

The TC103 community is warmly invited to participate in the 9th International Symposium on Deformation Characteristics of Geomaterials (ISDCG 2027), which will take place from 1417 September 2027 at the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Türkiye.

Organized by the ISSMGE Technical Committee on Laboratory Testing (TC101), ISDCG is the premier international symposium dedicated to advances in the laboratory testing of geomaterials. The event continues a distinguished series of conferences previously held in Sapporo (1994), Torino (1999), Lyon (2003), Atlanta (2008), Seoul (2011), Buenos Aires (2015), Glasgow (2019), and Porto (2023).

The Organising Committee particularly welcomes contributions on interdisciplinary topics and collaborations across ISSMGE Technical Committees. Of special interest are presentations addressing the numerical modelling of laboratory experiments and other topics at the interface between experimental and computational geomechanics. Subject to sufficient interest, dedicated parallel sessions on these themes may be organized.

ISDCG 2027 will bring together researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from around the world to exchange the latest scientific knowledge, share innovative solutions, and discuss future challenges in the characterization and behaviour of geomaterials. With more than 200 participants expected, the symposium will provide an excellent platform for scientific exchange, networking, and international collaboration.

In addition to the technical sessions, a full day will be devoted to themed workshop sessions, offering further opportunities for interaction and joint initiatives among different ISSMGE Technical Committees.

Researchers and practitioners are encouraged to submit abstracts and contribute to this important international event.
