Call for Abstracts: the 2nd International Workshop on Space Geotechnics, Regolith, and Granular Materials (IWSGRGM 2027)

As co-chairs, we are pleased to invite abstract submissions for the 2nd International Workshop on Space Geotechnics, Regolith, and Granular Materials (IWSGRGM 2027), hosted by San Diego State University from April 19-23, 2027.

Under the theme Building the Moon: Geotechnical Investigation, Design, Construction, and Resource Utilization, the workshop will bring together researchers, engineers, students, industry professionals, and government representatives working to advance sustainable lunar and planetary surface operations.

 

Topics include:

  • Site characterization, prospecting, and sensing
  • Excavation, mobility, and regolith operations
  • Space geotechnical design, analysis, and construction
  • Monitoring and long-term performance of lunar infrastructure
  • In-situ resource recovery and utilization
  • Standards, education, and workforce development
