This contribution aims to investigate the behavior of geosynthetic-reinforced soil on footings bearing capacity by numerical modeling. In this work numerical simulations are carried out using finite difference Flac software to investigate the improvement of the bearing capacity of a reinforced soil of low bearing capacity. The results show that the geosynthetic reinforcement can considerably increase the footing bearing capacity by about two to four times, which is a cost-effective solution. Furthermore, results have revealed that the inclusion of second layer reinforcement has a direct improvement on bearing capacity of the footings. The computational results were obtained for a single and two layers of reinforcements for different values of soil friction angle ().
