Analysis of pile behaviour based on full real scale vertical and horizontal pile load tests


The option of concrete piles for deep foundation elements has been preferred for various civil construction projects, especially those with high level of deformation requirements, what will require the analysis of deformations for foundation design by pile load tests. The soil properties, type of project and load distribution are determinant for deformation analysis by pile load tests. The present case study focus on the study performed for the construction of the new Gas Fired Combined Cycle Power Plant at Infulene in Maputo City .Due to the intensity of the loads and the proper expected orientation, the full real scale vertical and horizontal pile load tests were proposed and executed for this case study, in order to confirm the expected results obtained from analytical expressions.
