Piled raft design of the high-rise building in weak mudstone rocks

The design of piled raft foundation was done by using pile loading tests and a numerical analysis. The emphasis was on quantifying the effectiveness and practicality of the barrettes pile bearing even in weak rocks. The case of high-rise buildings constructed on weak mudstone rocks was analyzed. Much work has been carried out through a combination of Osterberg pile loading tests and numerical analyses. In particular, 3D finite element method and beam-column analysis were employed to evaluate the settlement and stability of the foundation structure. Based on the results obtained, some findings highlight the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of using optimized piled raft foundations as a practical solution for constructing high-rise buildings on challenging geological conditions.
