Probabilistic assessment of soil-foundation-structure interaction on the reliability of structure

This paper investigates the influence of uncertainties related to the variability of soil parameters, determined by random fields, on the reliability of structures, taking into account soil-foundation interaction by using Monte Carlo simulations and numerical modeling with OPTUM G2 (2D) finite element software. The study demonstrates that uncertainties associated with the variability of soil properties play a significant role in obtaining reliable probabilistic results in structural design.
