The effect of marble powder on the improvement of soils compaction at low water content
ABSTRACT: Arid areas are characterized by low precipitation and high evaporation rates. Soil moisture content plays a crucial role in soil compaction. The present investigation aims at evaluating the soil compaction at low moisture content with the effect of adding marble powder on poorly graded soil. Then, modified proctor tests and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests were conducted. The results indicated that the addition of 20% increased the maximum dry density and the CBR value.
