TC212 Deep Foundations

Deep Foundations

TC212 will organize an experimental site for testing piles where different pile types are installed and then tested under different loading conditions. The site has been located in Santa Cruz (Bolivia) where a local piling company (INCOTEC) is available to support this TC212 initiative by taking in charge most of the planned activities. BEST (Bolivian Experimental Site for Testing piles) is open for any other piling companies wishful to participate. After the completion of soil investigations and pile installations, all the collected data will be made available to the technical and scientific community on TC212 website in order to organize a "Class-A prediction event". Detailed information can be found on http://www.mygeoworld.info/file/owner/alemando63.

Collection of available standards, codes and guidelines in order to evaluate similarities and differences.

The results of the prediction event (as described in Terms of Reference 1) will be presented during the 1st ISSMGE TC212 International Conference to be held in Bolivia in May 2017. A special session will be organized during the next 19th ISSMGE Conference to be held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from September 17 to 22, 2017.

Any efforts will be made to reduce the gap existing between the State-of-the-Art and the State-of-the Practice in the field of Deep Foundations. Action to fulfill this objective will be let known as soon as possible.
