Cecilia Belén Laskowski Orlandi is an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB), Argentina. She holds a Civil Engineering degree from UNPSJB and is in the final stage of a joint PhD at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and UNPSJB, currently preparing to submit her doctoral thesis. Her research focuses on geotechnical engineering and rock mechanics for geological CO2 storage, combining experimental work, hydro-chemo-mechanical processes and numerical modelling. She has contributed to research projects including the EU-funded DISCO2STORE project and has authored or co-authored more than 30 journal and conference contributions, including a first-author paper in Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering. She has been an active ISSMGE member since 2020 and, since 2023, has served as the international representative of the Young Geotechnicians of the Argentine Society for Geotechnical Engineering (SAIG) within ISSMGE. Since taking on this role, she has helped consolidate and strengthen the Argentine Young Geotechnicians group, expanding its activities and regional visibility through a sustained series of binational technical events organized with partner geotechnical societies. Her international activity includes participation in the 21st ICSMGE, the 8th iYGEC, the 28th EYGEC, the 17th Pan-American Conference and the 3rd ICEG. She has also served on SAIG scientific committees since 2023 and acted as Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the 3rd DISCO2STORE Workshop. She is committed to connecting young geotechnical professionals across South America and expanding their active participation within ISSMGE.
