Chee Fong Wah is a geotechnical engineer and Senior Geotechnical Manager at G&P Professionals Sdn Bhd, Malaysia. He is a Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate (PEPC) registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Over the past 14 years he has been involved in the design, construction and supervision of a wide range of geotechnical works.
His projects include foundations for high-rise buildings exceeding 40 storeys, earth retaining stabilising system (ERSS) design for the Klang Valley MRT Line 1 and Line 2, slope stabilisation and repair works, and geotechnical studies for large-scale combined-cycle power plants. His recent work extends to dam safety, including instrumentation and deformation monitoring for hydropower dams, and contract administration under FIDIC conditions for major utility clients.
He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2012 and has published technical papers at international and local Malaysian conferences. His research interests include soft ground engineering and ground improvement, foundations, deep excavation, slope stabilisation and dam safety monitoring. He is a committee member of the Malaysian Geotechnical Society (MGS) and a member of TC211 (Ground Improvement), ISSMGE.
