Dani Mourtada is a Geotechnical Engineer at Dar (Sidara Group), based in Beirut, Lebanon. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Lebanese American University (LAU). Her Master’s research involved laboratory testing on soil behavior, culminating in a thesis on “Effect of Bentonite Permeation on Fabric and Strength of Ottawa Sand.” As part of this research, she co-authored a paper published in the Canadian Geotechnical Journal. Her professional experience includes contributing to the geotechnical design of large-scale projects. She is a member of the Lebanese Geotechnical Engineering Society (LGES) and serves as a liaison member of ISSMGE’s Young Member Presidential Group (YMPG), representing Lebanon. In this role, she supports the establishment of Lebanon’s Young Geotechnical Engineers Chapter under the auspices of LGES, helping grow local engagement and connect young professionals with the wider international geotechnical community.
