Ihab Malaeb is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Dar (Sidara Group), based in Beirut, Lebanon, with 11 years of professional experience. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the Lebanese University (LU) and his Master’s degree from the American University of Beirut, with a thesis on “A Risk-Based Approach for Optimizing Proof-Load Test Programs for Driven Piles.” As part of his master’s research, he co-authored a paper presented at the 7th International Symposium on Geotechnical Safety and Risk (ISGSR 2019) in Taipei, Taiwan. His professional work spans tunnelling and micro-tunnelling projects, as well as foundation engineering, including piles, foundations, and shoring systems. He has been an active member of the Lebanese Geotechnical Engineering Society (LGES) for several years and currently serves on the organizing committee of PMGEC. In 2026, he participated in the 8iYGEC Conference in Graz, reflecting his ongoing engagement in international young geotechnical initiatives. He has also led a webinar in collaboration with Rocscience as the featured speaker.
