Lizeth Ardila M. is a Colombian engineer currently based in Brazil. She is a Civil Engineer, graduated Cum Laude from the Industrial University of Santander (UIS), Colombia. She holds a Master’s degree in Civil Infrastructure from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain and a Master’s degree in Geotechnics from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil.
She has experience in road infrastructure projects, mining geotechnics, and geotechnics applied to civil infrastructure. Her main areas of technical expertise and research include geosynthetics, reinforced soil structures, transportation geotechnics, mining geotechnics, and numerical modeling applied to geotechnical engineering. She currently works as Technical Coordinator for South America at HUESKER GROUP.
She currently serves on the Technical Outreach and Social Media Committee of ISSMGE South America, which received the 2026 ISSMGE Outstanding Public Relations Award in Vienna. She is also an active member of the Brazilian Association for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ABMS) and the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS). She has authored and co-authored more than 40 publications in technical journals and conference proceedings and has participated as a speaker and technical reviewer at several geotechnical conferences and technical events.
