Thibault Badinier is a researcher in geomechanics and geotechnical engineering at University Gustave Eiffel France. He graduated in civil engineering at ENTPE (Lyon, France) and obtained a PhD in solid mechanics from ENSTA ParisTech (Palaiseau, France).

He is a member of the French Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (CFMS), former chair of the Young Members group (2023-2025). He currently sits as a nominated member of TC 308 (Energy Geotechnics) and a corresponding member of TC103 (Numerical Methods in Geomechanics). Since 2018, he has worked at University Gustave Eiffel as a researcher, focusing mainly on numerical modelling of geotechnical construction. His work covers a wide range of topics, including energy piles and energy micropiles, reinforced embankments and rigid inclusions, tunnelling, soil behaviour and constitutive laws. He is involved in several projects of national importance (ANR project and National Project), is part of the European COST Action Network Foliage (CA21156) and is associated with the European project Genius (MSCA – doctoral network). He supervises PhD students (past and current) and regularly publishes his work in international journals and international conferences.
