2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference on Soil Mechanics, Geotechnics and Foundation Engineering. Intelligence on Guard of Mechanical Safety - GEOMOS26

Description

The 2nd International Conference on Soil Mechanics, Geotechnics & Foundation Engineering (GEOMOS 26) timed to 95th anniversary of the Gersevanov Research Institute of Foundations & Underground Structures (NIIOSP) will be held on 17 – 20 March 2026 in Moscow, Russia. The conference is organized by Gersevanov Research Institute of Bases and Underground Structures (NIIOSP) JSC Research Center of Construction in collaboration with the Russian Society for Soil Mechanics, Geotechnics & Foundation Engineering (RSSMGFE) and Technical Committee on Geotechnical Infrastructure for Megacities and New Capitals TC305 ISSMGE.

Under the motto “Intelligence on guard of mechanical safety”, GEOMOS26 aims to touch upon global challenges in creating sustainable and resilient infrastructure through innovation and research and practice collaboration. The key objectives of GEOMOS26 are to:

  1. Share new scientific and practical knowledge in soil mechanics, geotechnics and foundation engineering;
  2. Advance the quality, reliability and safety of construction through discussion of the state-of-the-art design methods, investigation techniques and monitoring tools;
  3. Provide a platform for fostering stronger networks and professional growth, collaboration within the geo-engineering community.

The programme features keynote lectures, themed technical sessions, an industry exhibition and optional technical visits to major construction sites in Moscow and vicinity.

The conference will cover a broad range of topics:

  • Design and calculation of foundations and shafts
  • Deep Foundations
  • Soil Property Characterization
  • Engineering Geology and Geohazards
  • Foundation Engineering for Difficult, Soft, Specific, and Structurally Unstable Soils
  • Ground Improvement
  • Geotechnical Aspects of Underground Construction
  • Foundations of High-Rise and Unique Structures
  • Foundation Engineering for Arctic and Cold Regions
  • Geotechnics for Climate Change
  • Features of Foundation Design for Reconstruction
  • Preservation of Historic Sites
  • Structural Survey
  • Technical Geophysics
  • Geotechnical and Field Monitoring
  • Scientific and Technical Support in Geotechnical Engineering
