Piled Raft Foundation Systems (PRFS) are using in soft clays in recent years. In this type of soil, a double consolidation process can occur, due to the load imposed on the foundation and transmitted to the soil, and due the modification of internal stress conditions. This experimental work uses reduced scale models to analyse the behaviour of PRFS subjected to double consolidation processes. The analysis is carried out based on the settlements and the modification of the load distribution over the fart and the piles. The influence of the spacing and number of piles on the PRFS behaviour was verified. The results show that greater spacing between piles in PRFS is more effective for controlling the settlements, when the soil is subjected to subsidence processes and, the modification of the load assumed by the raft is similar to that which had already been proposed in previous investigations.
