Geo-Disaster Solidarity
Geo-Disaster Solidarity is an ISSMGE initiative intended to facilitate international support between Member Societies following significant natural disasters.
When a Member Society affected by a disaster requests assistance, ISSMGE will circulate the request to all Member Societies. Any Society, institution, or individual expert willing and able to provide support may then respond directly to the requesting Society.
Support may include technical expertise, post-disaster assessment, capacity building, specialist advice, dissemination of information, or other forms of professional assistance as appropriate to the circumstances.
Member Societies requiring support following a geo-disaster should contact the ISSMGE Secretary General at [email protected] with details of the event, the impact, and the assistance sought.
ISSMGE acts as a facilitator for communication and coordination. The nature and extent of support provided remain the responsibility of the responding organisations and individuals.
