Deltares and TU Delft are delighted to welcome you to the 5th European Conference on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics (ECPMG 2024) in the historic city of Delft, Netherlands, from 2nd to 4th October 2024.

The conference aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the latest developments in multi-scale modelling within the following themes:

Scaling principles and fundamentals
New facilities, new equipment, and measuring techniques
Onshore and offshore foundation systems
Geotechnical infrastructure
Energy geo-structures and climate effects

The three-day conference will take place on the Deltares and TU Delft campus, which is a mere 10-minutes drive from the Delft city centre and within walking distance from TU Delft.

Abstract aubmission instructions for authors:

The submission process will be done in two stages and all through ISSMGEs Conference Review Platform. First, authors are invited to submit an abstract describing the topic and details of their presentation and select a themed session on which they are interested in presenting. Then, after the abstract approval, the authors are invited to submit a paper.

Abstracts should have between 150 to 250 words.
Abstracts are submitted through the ISSMGE platform.

If you are submitting multiple papers, please use a same account
Select a themed session (see the above list)
Note that abstracts submitted to the ECPMG 2024 may be later reassigned to a different themed session depending on the review.
Select a presentation type (oral, poster or either)

Key dates after aubmission of abstracts:

Deadline for abstract submission by December 1, 2023
Abstract review notification by December 22, 2023
Full paper submission by March 1, 2024
Completion of paper review by May 1, 2024
Final paper submission by June 1, 2024

Publication and copyright information:

Authors retain all rights to their articles in the conference proceedings.
A copyright agreement form will be provided to authors and must be submitted at the time of acceptance and final submission of revised papers.
Accepted papers will be published in a free and open access conference proceedings in the ISSMGE Online Library.
Each paper will be indexed with its own individual DOI number and Conference Proceedings, with their own ISSN.
The conference editorial board may invite selected conference papers for an special issue on a high impact journal.
